After the domain name expires, who can sell the domain name and make a profit?

Original owner can renew before it expires, after it expires there is a redemption period when he can renew but with added redemption cost fee.

When the redemption period is over, if the domain name has value, the registrar will put it to auction and after the auction end it will go to the highest bidder.

If there are no auction bids then registrar will return the domain to its registry and it will be available once again for anyone to register.
