How important is adding your location to a domain name?

There is no real need to add your location to domain name.

If you need to target local audience best strategy is to get a country code domain name. At present search engines give favor to ccTLD in local search so your website would display before generic top level domains such as .com or .org etc.

For example if a someone from UK uses Google to search, it will get .uk and .co.uk first and then under will be .com and other generic top level domains.

Then again if your company already owns a generic top level domain which has some value in ranking and you have some global audience it would be best that you register the ccTLD too and redirect it to your main website to get best results local and global.

Net neutrality awareness? What you should know and understand.

It would not be the death of the Internet as we know it, you will still be able to access most of the websites for free. However, it would be a birth of a new, much more monetized internet, where you must pay extra for many services we are getting for free. Also you may not be able to access some of the websites or services at the internet provider service discretion, as they "do not support that content". Video access services would suffer the most if the internet neutrality would be lost. Net neutrality main goal is about preventing the ISPs favor some video streams while they deny access to other. Cable companies that have flourished in the 90s, are now craving to make a combination of video distribution and broadband Internet connection services, that will provides additional opportunities and incentives for cross-subsidizing between the different services that they bundle. Long story short, they want to make more money. Much like water or electricity distr...

What is Web 2.0? Which websites come under this term?

With “Web 1.0” the content presented on websites was made by the website or service owner, and users where just browsing or had very little interaction with it.   Progressing from the basic html websites, to more responsive designs with much more interaction, and online services, has made a fundamental change in how we use the web. Now, on the “Web 2.0″, we are consuming user-generated content, and these different services work well with one another. Just take a look at YouTube for example, a service where there is a ton of user generated video content, and then it is shared on social media ( Facebook for example). The user is actually invited to contribute and get involved (albeit a simple comment, like or other kind of interaction).

How do you create and sell domain names?

Selling domains can be done through domain name auction and marketplace websites (sedo.com, etc.) but you have to expect that they will take a cut of sales, and auctions are not the most profitable because you can’t expect big figure sales. A much better approach to selling a domain name is to research a possible market for it. Here is an example of what the process should look like: 1. Research current industry trends, for example: car automation is on the rise, virtual reality is somewhat of a thing, crypto currency and mining, to name a few obvious ones. If you are able to spot a niche technology or trend and beat others to it, then you could think of some domains in that niche, but also keep in mind: 2. Even before registering a domain, you should do some research of possible clients. Companies that would see buying that domain as a sort of investment. When you can find those, you will be making more serious profits. 3. Contact those companies by em...
